Static photography was born out of a passion for all things photographic and a desire to share that passion with others. Capturing the world around us - be it people, architecture, shelves in bathrooms - excites us which is why we do it well.
Photographically we will not be constrained to any limits and that’s what keeps it exciting for us. We take advantage of everything digital technology has to offer us including the cost benefit for our clients, quick and easy viewing and eventblogging. We are also very aware of the limitations of digital at this point and as much of our style has evolved from both black and white film, as well as techniques such as cross-processing, we haven’t given up shooting good ol’ film either. (and we probably never will but we’re old-school like that.)
While our photography services are somewhat traditional – portraiture, commercial, fine art – our vision is not. See our various sections for more info.
We are committed to offering high-quality, professional photographic services for all of your memorable moments and provide our clients with the most convenient method to view, share and purchase photos. We work with a professional photo lab to ensure the very best quality of prints. Not only because you deserve that but because it’s our work and we’re proud of it. By working with a lab that shares our vision we are able to focus more of our energy on the most important thing, capturing your memories.

Shortly after an event, both hosts and guests can visit their password-protected gallery at the static photography site. Within this gallery guests can view, purchase, and share the event photos online. By keeping the digital photography process simple, ordering high-quality, lasting prints on real photographic paper is a quick and easy process which ends with having your images delivered directly to you.
That’s enough talk about us. Our work will tell you the rest. Go. Have a look around. Let us know what you think.

Happy New Year!!! My name is
Happy New Year!!!
My name is Shelly Ancell, I live in Nelson, BC.
I have been accepted to the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts Photography Diploma Program beginning in March.
I am attempting to secure funding from Employment Insurance to support me while I attend school. I am asking photography businesses to sign a letter stating that they would accept an application for employment from me once I finish the Van Arts program in 2011. Would you be willing to sign such a letter on your business letterhead? These letters will help me prove to EI that I could be employable upon graduation from Van Arts. I have enclosed the format necessary. Please feel
free to add any information about your business that you wish. The letters simply need to state that you are willing to accept a resume from me upon completion of my school. If possible could you mail me a signed letter, if not an email will be sufficient.
If you would be willing to do this I would be very grateful. It has been a dream of mine for some time now to attend photography school.
Thank you for your time,
Shelly Ancell
