Zingle Thabethe Photo in Feb 2008 NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

Photographers only dream of having their photos published for National Geographic. This past February, Static’s own Kris Krug had this dream come true. Kris was at the 2007 Pop!Tech conference in Camden, Maine working as the official photographer.

Over the three busy days Kris photographed various speakers and guests. One of the speakers was Zinhle Thabethe from KwaZulu Natal province, South Africa. Zinhle is currently living with HIV and is now doing what she can to bring attention to the massive AIDS/HIV pandemic in South Africa. One of the pictures that Kris took of Zinhle during her presentation was published by National Geographic for their Emerging Explorers Program 2008, a program that supports talented individuals, who are just starting out in their careers, as they make positive differences in the world around them.

Kris is attending Pop!Tech 2008 this coming October, stay tuned for photos. You can check out some of the photos from Pop!Tech 2007 on Kris’s Flickr Page and the rest are over @ Pop!Tech’s own Flickr page.

If you are hosting a conference or corporate event and need a photographer, let Static take control. Static can offer you quality shots and a professional attitude. If you think Static would be a good fit for your event, give us a call and we can make it happen.
